A tender has been called to repave 7.8 kilometres of Trunk 2,from Stewiacke northerly to West Shortts Lake Road. “We’re building better roads for drivers in Nova Scotia,” saidRon Russell, Minister of Transportation and Public Works.”Repaving Trunk 2 is part of our commitment to make our roadssafer and stronger.” The tender closes Friday, June 4, with an expected completiondate of Sept. 30. The repaving work on Trunk 2 is in addition to the $2 million inwork recently awarded to repave sections of Highway 102 and UpperRiver John Road. The Department of Transportation and Public Works highwaysdivision manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in NovaScotia. It maintains an inventory of 4,100 bridges and operatesseven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from districtoffices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.last_img read more
